KION North America and Fox Robotics Announce Strategic Partnership

KION North America has announced a strategic partnership with Fox Robotics. The partnership involves the manufacturing and assembly of Fox Robotics' truck autonomous forklifts loaders and unloaders (ATLs) at KION's facilities in Summerville, South Carolina.

Autonomous forklifts capable of loading and unloading trailers are emerging as key innovations in the AGV market.

Jonathan Dawley, President and CEO of KION North America, highlighted the critical role of innovation in logistics and transportation, particularly in automated trailer loading and unloading, a key component of warehouse automation.

"Partnering with Fox Robotics allows us to introduce a revolutionary product in the U.S. market, significantly enhancing efficiency, safety, and reliability for our customers," Dawley stated.

Marin Tchakarov, CEO and President of Fox Robotics, underscored the expansion of the company's supply chain capabilities through the partnership.

"We are experiencing tremendous demand and growth, and this partnership will undoubtedly support our expansion and meet the increasing market demands," Tchakarov explained.

The partnership announcement comes on the heels of Fox Robotics surpassing 2.5 million pallet operations with its FoxBot ATLs, as reported recently.

The FoxBot, an autonomous forklift launched in 2019, is the world’s first Class 1 electric, stand-up autonomous forklift designed for warehouse loading dock operations. This innovation not only automates various tasks but also improves workplace safety, productivity, and employee satisfaction.

Till Reuter, Board Director for Fox Robotics and former CEO of Kuka Robotics, reflected on the potential for automation within the logistics sector over the next decade.

"Automating manual processes at shipping and receiving docks is a key driver for growth and transformation. Fox Robotics is at the forefront of this industry shift, leading the way in warehouse automation," Reuter commented.
